Hello guys.
I am trying to make a page of a dotted grid for bullet journaling. However, I have no idea what would be the best way to do it. Can any of you give me any suggestions? So far have not found anything useful online.
Thanks in advance!
Samples:
you can, for example, draw the small circle at the top-left corner, copy it (Ctrl/Cmd C) and use Step and Repeat command (Edit > Step and Repeat). Set the needed horizontal and vertical distances, turn on the Create as a Grid option and define the amount of the columns and rows. You can control the result turning on the Preview option.

Depending on the size of the grid you might run into a performance problem with a step and repeat—a 50x50 grid would draw 2500 objects on the page. If you do run into a problem you could step and repeat the grid in a separate document and place that doc, so there is only one object on the page.
You could also do it via repeating glyphs, where there would only be one text object on the page. Here I'm repeating Myriad periods 10/15.5 tracked to 1340. This approach would let you manipulate the size of the dot and spacing after the grid is setup:

Here's an example using repeating periods I'm showing in #4 where the horizontal spacing is handled by the tracking amount (1350), the vertical spacing is the leading 15.5, and the dot size is the font size. You can open the PeriodGrid Paragraph style and change the settings to manipulate the grid.

Can you please please please attach the file? I've been trying to do this myself (first time using Ai and Id) and am about to tear my hair out 😕

This is a task I'd perform in Adobe Illustrator using the pattern tool: Illustrator CS6: Using the Pattern Options tool | lynda.com tutorial - YouTube
It can then be imported as an image into InDesign. The advantage of this method is that if the client wants to make a change, it's a lot easier doing this to one image rather than lots of selections in InDesign.
