Question

'Download' doesn't work when trying to open free templates.

I've been scrolling through these free templates that indesign offers before opening a document. So i wanted to try a few out and in the past this worked, but now whenever i click 'download', nothing happens. I've see more topics about this and that i have to contact customer support about this error, but i can't seem to reach customer support in any way and i get redirected to this 'default problems' page. Anyone who can help me out here?

I also can't download the free templates, but it doesn't give any error message where I can find the file either.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Can you share a screenshot of the error that you're getting along with the version of InDesign & OS. We'll try our best to assist.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm also having this issue. However, no error message pops up. I am just unable to access the free templates.

Barb is correct.

There is an InDesign User Voice website for feature requests. There is already a request "Ability to save template files to the new document dialog":

Adobe staff read this website frequently. You can add your vote for this feature there which will increase the likelihood that this feature is added.

I voted! And had no idea it wasn't working until this question was asked.

Hi Robin:

You are right, there is an issue downloading the free templates from the New Document dialog box.

I got around it by noting the template name, and typing it into the Search box under the error message. That took me to a search results page on Stock.Adobe.com. I found the template, double-checked the word Free underneath and then clicked the License button. It saved it to my default Library. Still in the New Document dialog box, I was able to choose it from the Recent list.
