I am not finding a way to apply a drop shadow to just a table that is inside of a Text Frame. I am able to add it to the text frame, but that applys the drop shadow to all of the content inside of it. I just want the drop shadow on the table that is inside it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure your text frame has a fill colour, or add fill to the cells of the table (Table>Table Options>)

Yes, The table/cells have a fill color. I can select the table, and when I go to effects, the only one that is greyed out is Drop Shadow.

Try appling the drop shadow to the text frame, then fit that frame to the table. You don't need the table to be in a common text frame with the rest of the body copy. If it needs to be aligned, you could anchor the text frame to another frame.

Tables are complex elements - a box in a box in a box, more or less. It may not be possible to apply an edge effect to just the outline of the table, at least, not without creating a placeholder shape under/over it or the equivalent.
