Duda sobre tamaños en píxeles de documentos

Un documento en InDesign de tamaño A4 tiene con calidad de impresión (unos 300 ppp) sólo unos 595 x 840 píxeles, y en calidad web (72 ppp) exactamente la misma.
En Photoshop, una imagen tamaño A4 a 72 ppp tiene efectivamente unos 595 x 840 píxeles. Pero con calidad de impresión, o sea los 300 ppp, la imagen en A4 necesita 2.480 x 3508 píxeles.

¿Por qué en InDesign basta con resolución web, 72 ppp, para imprimir correctamente?

InDesign documents and pages do not have a resolution, ID pages are vector objects not bitmaps.

There is a Pixel Ruler Unit that has an output dimension equal to 1/72", which is useful for screen projects where you want to export the page to an image format with a specific pixel dimension for screen or web work.

A document setup as 1024px x 768px can be easily exported with matching pixel dimensions by using 72ppi as the Resolution setting. If you changed that document’s Ruler Units to Inches, you would see its print output dimensions are 14.22" x 10.666". When you print, the page resolution would depend on the output device. If there are placed images their output resolution would be the Effective Resolution listed in the Links panel.
