Hello,

I have a 64 page 11x17 inches portfolio that I've designed in Indesign and now I would like to convert or export the document as one long scrolling page with the original width of 17 inches remaining intact. I will be exporting it as a pdf so if it's easier to convert a multi page pdf into a long scrolling page then I would be thrilled to know how to do that.

Thank you!

Start a new document

Insert your parameters something like this

Gives you a long skinny document ...

Use File>Place

Select your original InDeisgn file.

And click Show Import Options

Select all pages

Your Placeholder Gun loads the InDesign File with all the pages!

Now use File>Place again and select a JPEG.

Now you will see it's loaded with 2 items!

Now you can use Gridify - https://indesignsecrets.com/tip-week-gridify-magic.php

But delete the last image which was a random jpeg.

You can set the initial view of the PDF to pretty much do that, but it will likely only be honored in Acrobat or Reader.

You're need to use some imposition software for doing so long PDF. But your wish is strange. Just use it Acrobat in "scrolling view"

And then all your pages should be laid out - except a bit of resizing.

But you should be able to export that to one continuous PDF.

Note - that an indesign file can't be 11inches x 64 - which is  700 and something inches.

So I worked at 10% and used 1.7in and 1.1*64 (70.4 inches) to create the document.

Yes, it did! I had to break it up into 4 long pages because of the length limit but it's pretty close to what I was looking for. Sorry for the delay, I didn't get to try it until now. Thanks so much for your help!
