edit toolbar icon is missing in creative cloud

I am missing tools in my tool bar. There is no advanced tool bar. I am directed to the edit toolbar icon (...) at the bottom and there nothing. I am specificdally looking for vertical type on a path tool.

There's some confusion here:

• The three dot button that you are referring to is part of Illustrator and Photoshop, but not InDesign. 
• "Advanced" refers to the workspace—in InDesign (and Photoshop and Illustrator), choose Window > Workspace > Advanced. 
• InDesign has two Type tools: the Type Tool and Type on a Path. There is not a Vertical Type tool in InDesign. Both Photoshop and Illustrator have a Vertical Type tool. Press and hold on the Type tool in the toolbox to see the other Type tools in all three applications.

I'm guessing that you are reading a tutorial or watching a video about Photoshop or Illustrator, and not one on InDesign?
