Editing text cause "white out".

CC on a Mac. I am having a curious problem. Editing text often results in all the lines of the vicinity of the edit disappearing from view; changing the zoom level causes them to reappear.

Lately, some have been suggesting to turn off rulers under the view menu to see if the whiteout goes away.

What OS version is installed on your Mac?

Sonoma 14.0 (23A344)

Updated to Indesign 19.0 and witeout was still there, but then I turned GPU Performance on again and now whiteout is gone, so hopefully it’s fixed.

Another bugs that seems similar; zooming with option+scrollwheel often gets a page stuck off center 50% outside of the workspace without scrollbars. Have to zoom out and in againg to make it centered.

When will these whiteout bugs be fixed? It’s rather absurd to have bugs like this going for years. Whiteout also happens when trying to drag & select points with «Direct selection tool»

Try switching off the the GPU Performance, found under preferences and see if the helps.

Thank you. Tried that, but it did not work.

  • Any pending update for InDesign? If so install them
  • You could also try trashing your InDesign preferences and rebuilding the InDesign cache
