Hey everyone

I have updated my Indesign to version 18.1 roughly 8 days ago.

When pasting simple and small objects (without any effects like gradient, shadow...) from Illustrator to Indesign, all pasted obects are placed as images.
Where I could change the color of pasted objects from illustrator before (from blue to red for example), I can only can change the size proportionally like an image.

In my layers panel it states the pasted object as an image, but it isn't linked resulting in an empty links panel.

Has somebody have a workaround for it or is it due to incompatibility of my computer?

I can't update any CC app anyore due to the age of my system.
(MacOS catalina version 10.15.7)

First of all whenever you copy and paste from Illustrator to InDesign there will never be anything showing in the Links Panel. An imported Illustrator object will only show in the Links Panel if it is imported through File>Place. Secondly, check your Clipboard Handling sections for both Illustrator and InDesign in their respective program preferences. In order for pasted Illustrator objects to remain live and editable the clipboard handling sections should be set up as in the screenshot below:
