Question

Export InDesign to InCopy with XML tags

We are using XML workflow in InDesign and trying to implement InCopy features for revises stages (to update the corrections automatically). We have an InDesign document with multiple stories (with XML tags) in it and trying to export that document into InCopy. While exporting, we have noticed that main story (linked page content) looks blank in InCopy. Unlinked box contents are exported well. Could you please confirm that how to export the entire document into Incopy files/assignment without breaking the xml tags?

Note: I tried to merge all stories into single story by using InDesign Anchored option and now I am able to export the entire document to Incopy, However after making corrections in Incopy file, I am not able to update that link in InDesign. While updating the incpy link, I am getting the following error

"Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation"

Exporting InCopy stories from InDesign will maintain all XML tags throughout the process. You should be creating the InCopy stories from within InDesign by choosing Edit > InCopy > Export > Selection or All Stories. This will generate an InCopy file (.icml) for each story in your InDesign document. You can then open each story directly in InCopy or open the InDesign file in InCopy to make edits. When viewing the content in InCopy, make sure you are showing your tag markers so you can see where the XML content is tagged. See screen shot below.

    Hi

    Sorry for the delayed response!

I hope you are checking the single story InDesign document. I am checking the InDesign document with multiple stories. If you refer below screenshot, you may realize that Box text placed at the top of the page is exported as Incopy but linked frame contents are not exported. Could you please give me a workaround to export all stories without breaking XML tags?

Note: I tried both export all stories and Export layer option, but it is not working me
