Hello everyone,

So I've been facing an issue for a while now with the latest version of InDesign (19.0), every time I try to export to PDF an error box saying: possible cause of failure present on spread with page number "23" ", shows up and won't allow me to export to PDF. Anyone might have a solution for this, it's really annoying. I tried so many things including deleting the page itself but the error for the same page nb. keeps appearing!! so I know It has nothing to do with the content on the specific page mentioned.

HELP PLEASE!!! this is affecting my work, and thank you!

Hi @nouha5D61,

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re having trouble exporting to PDF—it can be incredibly frustrating when you’re on a deadline.

To start, I recommend updating your InDesign to the latest version, 19.5, if you haven't already. Sometimes, issues like this are resolved in updates, and you might find that the export works smoothly after the update.

If you’re still encountering the error after updating, please try the following:

1.  Hidden or locked layers can cause export issues. Go through your layers and make sure there’s nothing interfering with the export on that specific page.

2. Select all the text on the problematic page and clear any paragraph or character style overrides. This can sometimes help resolve issues related to formatting.

3. If the error persists, try creating a new page and copying the content from the problematic page into the new one.

4. Ensure that any images or assets linked to that page are not corrupted or missing. You can do this through the Links panel.

Hopefully, one of these solutions will help you get back on track. Please let me know how it goes, and I’m here if you need further assistance!

Thanks,

Abhishek Rao

Hello Abhishek, thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately, none of the solutions you suggested have worked, and for some reason, I can't see the latest InDesign update on my Creative Cloud app. Any other idea how I might resolve this issue, thanks!

Updates should appear in the Creative Cloud app > Apps tab > View Updates (upper right)

If you already have 19.0 installed, you should be able to get updates.
