Exporting images from InDesign

We have recieved a brouchure in an InDesign Format and we need the images used in hi res - how do I do this. Thanks!

You can create a package>file that will store, in a folder,  the indd, idml (if checked), pdf (if checked) file, a folder with the links (the images) and another with the fonts used as long as they are not adobefonts.com.

If the images are not of sufficient resolution, InDesign cannot fix that. You would have to upsample them in Photoshop if possible.

We have recieved a brouchure in an InDesign Format

You did not get a folder with the used images? If no, have a look the links panel to check if the images are embedded.

If yes, you can unembed them with a right click (select them in the links panel). You'll get a dialogue box asking if you want to relink them to their original location. Click No and choose where you want the images to be saved. Note that if the original images were low res, you'll get low res. If they were high res, you'll get high res.

 

If the images are not embedded but linked, you need to ask the InDesign file sender to send you the images.
