Feature request: ability to scroll / use hand tool on large artboards

When I have a large document I'm working on (in this case, 4x8 feet), there are times when I want to be zoomed in for detail work, and times where I want to see the entire design at once.

When I'm zoomed in, I can use the hand tool to move around. When I'm zoomed out, the document is fixed in one position, in the centre right of the screen. I'd like to be able to move it, usually more into the centre, so that it's lined up with my eyeline. For some reason InDesign won't allow me to do this at all. It's beyond frustrating. Can you fix it, please?

Hi @jkoxvold:

I totally understand your frustration, but unfortunately, this is a user-to-user forum – users is helping other users – and we cannot change the software anymore than you can.

There is a feature request tag because eventually we hope to be eventually able to log feature requests here, but for now please log all feature requests using the link below:

Maybe this will help you:

Two copies of the same document - each with a different zoom level - you can have them side-by-side - or you can switch between them.
