Hi danezeq:

Start by selecting the text with the Type tool and change the Kerning value to Metrics, and the Tracking value to 0. If that doesn't do it, let us know.

the problem was the box was too mcuh small

Usually a too-small text frame would cause overset text—not squish the numbers together. Let us know if it happens again.

This looks like a page number. Page numbers and text variables get scrunched together, not overset.
