File gone after software update

I recently saved my indesign file, then my laptop had to do a software update and after my update, the file i saved was resetted to 25 days ago. Everything else i saved was still on my laptop but this particular file was gone, is there any way i can get my file back?

These two events are not likely to be connected to each other. Did you save your InDesign file in where, exactly? If you saved it in a google drive, dropbox, box, or the like, it will have other versions saved automatically.

Hi Mike, thanks for your reaction! I saved it in my downloads. It made several copies, but after the update my whole indesign was resetted to 25 days prior. My icloud is full so it did not save in the cloud, but it shouldve been saved somewhere.

Note that cloud services like iCloud and OneDrive may be archiving/removing files they no longer consider you need or to free up space. Never save important files in your downloads folder but place them in a known place.

...and also make sure you're running incremental backup - such as Time Machine - at all times. Then you'd easily retrive your file's version from the desired day.
