File Print: to reduce paper size A3 - A4 but loss of resolution

Hello,

I'm trying to reduce the size of a one page document from A3 to A4.

I print the document toward PDF (I don't use Export)

In Format / Preferences (?) there are settings with a resolution of 300 dpi.

But before, when I check in Acrobat Pro, the 300 dpi are not respected.

The resolution is always lower whereas my initial images have a resolution higher than 300 dpi.

How to do?

If you scale the placed images the actual resolution will change. The links panel will list the scaled resolution as Effective Resolution—is it higher than 300ppi?

You could also scale pages by placing them in a smaller document. Make a new A4 document and place your A3 InDesign page then export that page. If your resolution problem is being caused by scaling, exporting won't help.
