After a crash InDesign does not recognize the recovery files although the files are present in the folder

The document also does not show up in the recent files

Recovery Data are not supposed to be opened in InDesign. If you start InDesign, these data are used to open the last open documents. If that is not possible due to corruption, open the last available INDD file. If that dies niot work, use the last available backup.

If you work on drobox or on a similiar service, normally former versions are available on their cloud. There you can retrieve older versions.
