file won't save

I am on an Apple M4, Sequoia 15.1.1, using Adobe InDesign, 20.0.1 (1998-2024). I had no problems saving my original file, and exporting it to PDF. However, when I made changes, the changes never got saved. After a day of making changes over and over, and not seeing them, I kluged it by doing a Save As with a different name. Only then were my changes saved. Now I have to do that every time: Make a change, do a Save as with a different name, and export to PDF. This doesn't sound right.

Hi Kate:

No, that isn't normal or expected. You might try deleting preferences to see if that helps, but also note that InDesign is not yet supported on an M4 or on Sequoia.

If rebuilding preferences doesn't take care of it, you can post this as a bug report here:

The same thing happened to me. In the end, I got tired and reopened the 2024 version... In 20 years of using the program, something like this had never happened to me.

Could be a permissions issue, but a lot of Mac users are reporting issues with Magnet. I'm not sure if this is one of them, but if you have if you have it installed, uninstall it.

Thanks for the response.  I updated to InDesign 2025, AND reset my preferences and that seems to have frixed the problem.
