What happens if you remove the Find What: character style and run the search again?

If Mike's suggestion doesn't work, the video really doesn't help; we'd need to see the file.

Are you sure you didn't mean to use a paragraph style there?

Thanks for sharing! I tested this on InDesign version 20.4.1, and it works fine for me. Could you please confirm which InDesign version and OS you're using? Also, let me know if this happens with all files or only a specific one.

You have it set in combination with a certain Paragraph style. I guess the top text does not use that style.
