Question

Fixed Layout epub having squished text

I am using windows and InDesign CC and I have a book with illustrations at the beginning of every chapter, plus footnotes, and I am wanting to create a fixed layout epub that keeps all this true to my original. I have viewed videos on the Indesign website but they are all using MAC and the screens don't match mine. This file was originally a QuarkXpress file that has been converted to Indesign. Anyhow when I view the epub in Microsoft Edge which seems to be my default epub reader, the text font is not correct and the text is quished on the pages and basically unreadable. Plus my headings that are within the illustrations at the beginning of each chapter have completely disapeared.

Is there somebody who can view my file or provide me some help in getting this fixed as I have been working on it for weeks and really want to have a working epub of this book that looks like the original printed version.

Anyhow help at all would be greatly appreciated other than trying to get me to switch to MAC. LOL

Thanks,

CWalton

BTW, I wrote this a while back and I'm going to need to update it to discuss the new version of Edge. There are still a few bugs but overall it's a major upgrade.

Wait a week, upgrade to Windows 10 1809 and then try it in Edge again. I’ve already installed the update so if you’d like to put the EPUB in a dropbox folder and post a link, I’ll take a look here.
