font changes randomly!?

I use the Adobe World Ready Paragraph or single line composer to correct the order of letters when I add a Hebrew word in my English text - it works fine BUT! then it automatically changes every t following the letter s into a funny looking font - This happens only within the immediate paragraph or sentence  but then when i continue typing the same thing continues to happen to every word with a t following a s letter! I use Palatino font - and Arial Hebrew

"st" is not a common ligature, it's usually a Discretionary ligature (in the OpenType submenu of the Character panel).  And that is separate from just "Ligatures"; you can have "st" enabled in combination with not using the common ligatures.

If disabling "Ligatures" altogether actually works for you, it makes me wonder if it's the mix with World Ready/Hebrew that somehow messed up the normal handling.

Is it a curve which joins the top of the s to the side of the t? If so, that’s a ligature in Palatino intended only for decorative display text.

But how can I avoid that? The rest of the document is then different (800 pages)- as i said it only happens in the immediate vicinity of the applied correction of the Hebrew word -

I guess that’s a yes. Try turning off ligatures.

You can turn off use of ligatures, and should do so within the paragraph style to fix it globally, or maybe make a character style to apply here and there locally.
