Font for table numbers

Does anyone know of a font to use for numbers in a table, where the commas line-up, and also lining up with the commas with numbers in brackets. I don't want to have to adjust the right cell inset for each number with no brackets. Or any other suggestions? Thanks Jonathan.

It depends on your font, of course, but most OpenType fonts have the different sets of numbers (figures). You might consider not using the OldStyle figures for tables like these. They look odd, but that's just me. If you select Tabualr Lining, it uses uniform numbers instead.

It seems that you use font with small caps

Set up and define a style for text in the cells and apply the style you want for all text, just select cells and click on the style you have saved in the paragraph style.

You will have to select a different lining parameter under your OpenType options:

Hi. Thanks for that. I did try that before but the commas in the numbers inside brackets still don't line up with the commas in the numbers without brackets. It's just the brackets throw everything out. I guess I'm hoping for a silver bullet!!

  1. Use OTF > Table numbers in the Opentype section of the paragraph style
  2. Use a tabulator aligned to . and set a tabulator before any number.
