Font not exporting but showing as normal on file

Hi, I have been using the gilroy font for a while now for my projects, when I got a new laptop it said it wasn't available (parenthesis around the font name) yet still continued to export, so I assumed it was fine.

Recently, I have been exporting my files with this font and it has changed the font completely in the pdf but not the file. It is Gilroy light that I want, Gilroy semi-bold and thin work but thin looks too thin and Semi-bold I just use for titles.

It works perfectly fine on other adobe apps, just not Indesign.

I have also noticed that it works for some words but not others, yet in Indesign it appears to be the exact same settings, I have attached a photo of this showing gilroy light at the top and some random one below.

Any help would be greatly appreicated I thought about changing fonts but this is for a proffesional portfolio and all other fonts just don't feel right in comparison.Screenshot 2024-05-27 002841.png

It might be worth taking the issue up with the foundry.

Thank you but seeing as it has worked previously I believe it is an InDesign issue, if you or anyone you know has any ideas do let me know.

I have looked at the link you have sent me and it appears the font is paid on there, whereas I downloaded it fron dafont for free, do you think that poses an issue?

I suggest you make a copy of your InDesign document, download a similar sans serif font to Gilroy from Adobe fonts, use that font for the copy of the document and see if you can get that version to export correctly.
If you are using Paragraph (and Character) Styles – as you should be – this will be easy to do.
