Fonts didn't transfer from PC to Mac

I had been working on a project in InDesign, and recently switched from PC to Mac.
I think I installed a new font on the PC.  When I open the file in Mac InDesign, it shows 6 fonts are missing.  What the heck.  Has anyone dealt w/ something similar.  I guess I have to install those fonts first to Mac, then open the file.  Any advice?  I did install the font to Mac, and InDesign is still showing missing multiple fonts.

If you think you installed the font on the Max and it still showws as missing, the most likely reason is that ther version is different from the one you installed on the PC. Find/Change Font should be able to replace with the Mac version, but you risk text reflow or differnces in appearance due to differing font metrics between versions. A safer bet, as @Willi Adelberger suggests, ist to copy the PC version over.

Package you INDD and INDB on the first computer, then transfer the whole packages to the other computer.

I guess I should say, I installed some fonts like Cambria, and Garamond Regular, which should already have been installed.  Now it shows I just need Garamond Italics.  I installed it, but it still shows I didn't.  And the book I'm working on kook awful.  Perhaps I should have stayed on a PC.  Thank you.
