Fonts not activating

Hi there,

I'm new to InDesign and am working on a project that has specific fonts. It appears these are fonts available via Adobe, but they need to be activated. I have tried on several occassions to activate these fonts, but nothing happens. In one case I left the computer for over an hour and returned to find them still trying to activate.

I also tried uploading them via Adobe Fonts, but there did not upload.

I am using InDesign via MacOS Sonoma 14.1.1. I really need to get these fonts to work to continue working on this. Could someone please help?

Many thanks!

Andrew

This doesn't sound like an InDesign at all but an Adobe Fonts issue. If you're trying to activate from within InDesign, visit the Adobe Fonts site directly and try it from there.

Sonoma is not compatible with InDesign

It's a new OS from Apple.

In fairness, how can Adobe update an application for a new OS that wasn't released fully yet.

I guess they are working on making it compatible

=================

It might not be the issue

Fonts sometimes don't activate due to a breakdown in the communication from App to Creative Cloud Desktop to Creative Cloud online

Signout of CC Online

Sign out of CC Desktop
In InDesign go to Help> and ensure you're signed out

Quit

Reboot
Login to CC online
Login to CC Desktop

Open InDesign and go to Help and ensure that you're logged in

Try activate the font now.

In relation to the incompatible OS

Maybe you revert to an earlier supported OS for now.

There's no telling what else is not working as expected in Apple's new release OS for software that wasn't designed to run on it.
