ExtendScript Debugger (for Visual Studio Code) on device Apple Silicon works only with Rosetta

Using Rosetta slows down a lot...

Is there a version planned that runs natively on Apple Silicon?

Thanks for bringing this up! Currently, ExtendScript Debugger for Visual Studio Code does require Rosetta on Apple Silicon devices, which can indeed affect performance.

I’d recommend raising a request on the Adobe UserVoice platform for this. Once you've created the post, please do share the link here in this thread so others in the community can upvote it and help bring more visibility to the request.

I can't find it but I think I read somewhere that it is quite a big task to make the support natively for Apple Silicon. Anyhow, @Abhishek Rao the last version was released in 2022 so almost 3 years without a new version. Can you get some info if possible that is this even on some teams roadmap or not?

The developer of the 2.0 Debugger is working on Silicon support currently. Hopefully I'll have good news soon. If we decide to do another prerelease you'll be able to find it here (NDA required): https://adobe.ly/ccdevpre

Thanks again for raising this. As erinferinferinf suggested, there is now a prerelease version of the ExtendScript Debugger for Visual Studio Code (v2.1.0 RC1) that includes support for Apple Silicon devices. You can join the Creative Cloud Developers Prerelease program to access it here:
