Fraction sizing in InDesign 2026

New Here ,
Nov 20, 2025 Nov 20, 2025

Hi 🙂

The fractions in InDesign 2026 (bottom expression) are much greater in size than in InDesign 2025 (upper expression), even though I've both set at 8pt.

Can I somehow set the 2026 fractions to the size of the 2025 ones? Thanks in advance.

Hello @Zsanett.F,

I greatly appreciate your patience. I have investigated this further with the product team, and the discrepancy you're noticing is due to the way MathML content is rendered in the latest version of InDesign.

Hello @Zsanett.F,

I greatly appreciate your patience. I have investigated this further with the product team, and the discrepancy you're noticing is due to the way MathML content is rendered in the latest version of InDesign.

Fractions in 2026 are currently presented in a slightly different manner, which is why they seem larger even when using the same point size.

As a temporary solution, you can right-click the equation, select Edit MathML, and eliminate the display attribute from the MathML code. This should make the appearance more similar to what you observed in 2025.

Please inform me of the outcome after you try the workaround.

Best regards,
Abhishek
