Go to Page button in InDesign doesn't go to the right page when publishing online

I have a 38-page document created in InDesign 20.3 x64 (Windows 11) for print. I need to publish the document online. I created a menu on the master page with a pancake to get the menu to appear. In the menu, I created a separate button for each of the publication's sections. I then set the GO TO PAGE to each of the respective pages. When I publish the document online the menu does what I want it to do, but when I click on the section buttons, the links go to the wrong page. It looks like the links are all off by 2 pages. I've tried doing the links as hyperlinks, which does not work.

The community has been so helpful to me in the past, and I appreciate everyone's help. Hope you all can help again.

The Go to Page number is the number relative to layout, not the numbering section applied to it. In screenshot, if I wanted a button with "Go to Page" to travel to numbered page "3", I would enter page "5", because this is the fifth page of the layout.

That did it, Jeffrey! Saved the file as IDML, reopened it in InDesign and it worked! Thank you so much for your help with this.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

@Paul629

Can you share your document?

Please click my nickname if you prefer to send it privately - but you'll have to upload it somewhere first and then send me a link, as private messages do not allow attachments.

Thanks, Robert. Jeffrey's suggestion below to save as IDML and reopen as InDesign did the trick.

Yeah, sometimes corruption leads to a strange behaviour.

Now, you need to remember to do Save As with a new name more often - like at the end of every day - or at the end of the week - depends on how much yoy work on your file.

Thanks, Robert. When technology works, it's great. When it doesn't...

Appreciate the help.

Thanks, Jeffrey.

I think I tried that (I've done so many iterations to solve the problem), but I'll try it again. I'll let you know.

If your "Go to Page" number is correct, and you still see the error, then try saving as IDML. Saving as IDML can clean up interactivity corruption that may occur.
