Hello, since the 2023 update InDesign has stopped exporting correctly to fixed EPUB. Please help!

Hi,  for some reason the illustrations in the fixed format EPUB book will not export properly. I did not set up the book any differently from my usual way,  I've resized & relinked all images, removed the speech bubbles my client wanted in her picture book as the layers were not exporting correctly, I've lost about 3 working days going through all the usual fixes. A couple of weeks ago I had different problems exporting to reflowable EPUB since the update & it took about 3 hours of screenshare with an agent who patched InDesign. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?  Please can you advise?

I assume you are exporting the epub at 72ppi in the epub export options?

Have you tried to export your project in InDesign 2022?

Thanks James for trying to help, I was on a deadline so I asked an Adobe support agent for help, they remotely installed a patch then I had (slightly) different issues. I've uninstalled InDesign 2023, redid the ebook using version 2022 with no problems. I will wait for a while before I update in future!

Hi,

I'm having issues with InDesign not opening files on a brand new iMac so I need to contact an Adobe agent for help, how do I get in touch & speak with an Agent directly?

Best,

Toby

Hi @jc95166408 ,

what kind of patch for InDesign 2023 did support install?

Has it a name? Did they tell when it's available for "the rest of us" ?

Thanks,
Uwe Laubender

They didn't say, they refunded me for a month as I spent 4 - 5 days troubleshooting & was unable to fix the issue without their help.

And I was unable to bill my client for the work - I need to redo the job.
