Hi,

as the title says, The font colour goes slightly darker when I add a drop shadow.

What exactly is happening here? and how can I solve it?

You have your Edit>Transparency Blend Space set to Document CMYK. When there is any transparent object on the spread, out-of-gamut RGB colors are previewed in the document’s CMYK space. You can set it to RGB, but the CMYK preview is more accurate for print output.

Thank you Rob,

That completely fixed it  🙂  But it left me a bit confused.

So, does this mean that in RGB it looks perfect, but when I come to print it, it's going to be more like CMYK (darker view).

My final export will be a PDF (Print).

* UPDATE:  I just did an 'experiment':   I set the Transparency Blend Space to RGB and saved the PDF, and then I set it to CMYK and saved the PDF.

Both PDF's look identical and correct (colour), even though the CMYK Blend Space looks wrong within InDesign, it appears correct when saved as a PDF.

Is that normal ?

Also:  Can I trust that the final PDF will reflect what is printed ?
