Hide Readable Map Text and replace with alt for accessibility

I have a fairly big document which includes 300 maps (pdf originals).

My exported PDF of the 'big document' retains the text with the placed PDFs, which obviously reads back as a mess when using a screen reader.

I want the text in these maps ignored by screen readers.

I want my final big document to only have alt text for each map.

I don't want to have to flatten, resave and delink 300 + maps.

Can it be done? Please help.
