how do i export a 2 page spread on an 8.5x11?

I am making a zine. Each page is 4.25 x 5.5 (so a two page spread makes up an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper).

I want to export and print the file, according to the dimensions above. But whenever I export it, it prints a single page vertically on a full 8.5 x 11 instead printing two pages horizontally. See below. Any ideas? Thanks!

In Export PDF dialog, General tab, tick Spreads, not Pages.
