What I'd like to know is why. What workflow are you using that needs this feature?

I'm in house designer who work with NGO,

my colleagues likes to use Microsoft word to do proposal,

which need to do some layout and design (which they have half way done),

    and send out for printing.

Sometimes they need to amend PDF Booklet from other NGOs.

This is why i need the "Open PDF" function.

Acrobat can only do some minor amendment,

but usually they will change language in whole book,

Hopefully Adobe add this function in next version!

Doubtful that Adobe will bother with this any time soon.

You can buy one of two applications from Markzware or Recosoft to accomplish this now.

As a note, Paul is employed by Recosoft and may or may not be correct at this time regarding offerings from Markzware.

On the Markzware website, support is only listed for InDesign CS5, 5.5 and 6.

You can't do it directly in InDesign.

You have to do it with one of two third-party utilities:

    PDF2Id - Recosoft

PDF2DTP (Edit PDF in Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress) - Markzware

You cannot open a PDF. You can place a pdf from the File menu.
