How do you separate size box / crop box for image placement?

I upgraded to Indesign CC 2025 and noticed that now when I place images in Indesign, the image resizes when I am trying to adjust the crop window. Before now, the outer placement box resizes the crop on the image, while double clicking inside the image reveals the resizing boundary.

How to I switch it back to the old way of resizing? It is stretching and cropping all of my images in odd ways because they seem to be interconnected now.

Thanks!

Looks like the Auto-fit option seems to be auto-checked. I unchecked it and am now able to manipulate it as normal.

Do you know how to remove it as the default placement setting? Under preferences, I could not find an option for it. I hope it is not integrated into CC 2025 :0

Close all documents, then select the same menu and set the desired settings.

Have a look at Preferences > General > Content-Aware Fit

Maybe you want to switch it off?

Regardless of whether the box is checked, I get the same result 😞

Please see the video attached. I just took a quick phone video of what I am seeing on my end.
