I just updated indesign and the top horizontal toolbar is missing. I tried everything but it doesn't work. I find it very useful to see everything as it was before.

Hello @Astonished_joy5409,

I'm sorry to hear the suggestions did not help. Could you confirm the exact version of the OS/InDesign installed and share a small screen recording of your exact workflow and the problem, so we can better assist you?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

up but when i changed to Essentials, it appeared.

Hi Beata,

you are looking for the Control panel.

Like all other panels it's available under Window > Control.

The only panel that behaves a bit different is the new PDF Comments panel that is only available when a document is open.

Regards,
Uwe

There is no "Control" in the Window dropdown on a Mac.

Hi @John24472726qybf,

Thank you for reaching out. Would you mind trying to open the "Control Panel" using the shortcut Option+CMD+6?

If that doesn't work, please try resetting the preferences. Please also confirm the InDesign and the macOS version.

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika
