I just updated indesign and the top horizontal toolbar is missing. I tried everything but it doesn't work. I find it very useful to see everything as it was before.

My top row of drop down menus is also missing. Are there any keyboard commands available to get the tool panel back?

Hi Beata,
you are looking for the Control panel.
Like all other panels it's available under Window > Control.
The only panel that behaves a bit different is the new PDF Comments panel that is only available when a document is open.
Regards,
Uwe

Hi @John24472726qybf -- I replied below but didn't tag you so posting again here:
If you're using InDesign 2023, try looking at the very top band of your InDesign window (where it says Adobe InDesign 2023), then look over to the right -- there's a blue "Share" button, and to the right of the share button is a dropdown that will allow you to select what tools you want to display in your control bar. Choose a toolset from the list, and you should see it appear in your control bar. (See screenshot) Hope that helps!

Thank you for reaching out. Would you mind trying to open the "Control Panel" using the shortcut Option+CMD+6?
If that doesn't work, please try resetting the preferences. Please also confirm the InDesign and the macOS version.
We will try our best to help.
Thanks,
Harshika

I'm struggling to find extra tool bar at top InDesign. I'm using Windows and can't find the toolbar section at the very top that gives buttons to adjust "show hidden characters, etc... Anyone know if this is because that top bar only is available on mac?
