how to adjust spacing evenly after hitting enter in a paragraph?

Please post a screen shot with non-printing characters showing so we can see waht you are doing. More text would probably help, too.

Is all of the text using the same paragraph style?

We need to know about the styles in use and leading that you've applied. It certainly looks like that last line the paragraph retuyrn is either a larger font or has a larger leading value than the other text (seems to match the heading above).
