I imported a text from Word file  and most of the last lines are cutted in the middle, with the rest of the line on the next page. How can I correct that ??Capture d’écran 2024-08-07 222947.png

Can you better explain the problem? I do not understand what you are asking.

As you can see on the image of the text, the last line of the first page in cutted in the middle and the rest of the line is on the next page. I tried many different page break, but I cannot find
the right correction. The text is imported from a Word file. It looks like InDesign is keeping the page break from Word, but do not fit it at the end of the line.

Thanks

Hi @yvesm49627467 , Can you post a capture with hidden characters showing—Type > Show Hidden Characters? Looks like there is some kind of return or break character in the last line.

This is a Frame Break:

I can see just a regular return at the end of the line. If i try to do a page break with another line of the paragraph, i get a broken line as well.

Then this should work:

(\l)(\r)(\l)

lowercase letter, followed by enter, followed by another lowercase letter

I've confused you with the OP - text has been imported from WORD - so we are looking for some automatic solution.

As @jane-e suggests if you don't want the line to break, replace the paragraph return with a space.

Yes, but there are A LOT of those in the document - after importing from WORD - so the goal is to create some automatic solution - preferably GREP

Searching for "(\l)(\r)(\l)" and replacing with "$1$3" should work - but rather in a step-by-step mode - not globally - IF a word is split.

This:

"(\l\s*)([\r~M~R~P~L~E~k])(\s*\l)"

should work when break is between words.

Note that @Robert at ID-Tasker gave instuctions for a GREP find/change, not plain text...

Can you post a screenshot of your Find/Replace dialog so we can see if a setting needs to be changed?

Select the end of the first page and extend the selection to the first letter of the next page and write a space character.. Maybe easier to select the last character of the first page and the first characzer of the next page and write the overwritten character, a space and the other overwroitten character.
