Question

How to delete Indesign 2024 from Mac?

I seem to have somehow lost the "Remove Indesign 2024" file because when I click, it doesn't open, so I have been trying to figure out a different way to delete the application. Is there a way to fix this issue for Mac?

If I install the new version will that be downloaded over the version I have? I just want to get rid of it because I currently do not use the application and I do not want it to take up storage.

Hi @Edosch ,

if you cannot see InDesign 2024 in the Creative Cloud Desktop App as installed, you could try to install it. That option should be available. And then, if installing would be finished, uninstall it right away from the Creative Cloud Desktop App.

I have found a way to remove these 2024 icons on mac.

Go to creative design. Click the three dots next to the program. Find Other versions in the menu (close to delete). Find the version in the list you want to delete. Repeat with other programs. Restart your Mac.

I think they delegate this process now to the Creative Cloud app, which isn't always triggered when you click the uninstaller. You can simply uninstall it directly from Creative Cloud.

Thanks for your reply but unfortunately, when I click on the versions to unintsall, it doesn't show up. Instead all versions have "install" written next to them as if Creative Cloud doesn't recognise the InDesign app. (I have 2024 version)

Perhaps logging out and back in to the CC Desktop app will reset it, but if not you could try usiong theinstall button, then try to remove it again aftter it runs,

If you can't seem to use the Uninstall facility, consider using the Adobe Cleaner Tool; https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Thanks for your reply, I have followed the steps to use Creative Cloud Cleaner tool, however when I click to show the list of CC Apps available on my Macbook, Indesign isn't listed on there. I do not understand how CC doesn't recognize the app (it does work when I open it) or should it be named something else that I do not know of?
