I want to combine different pages as spread only on export. For expample: page 03 with page 07, side by side.

As my printscreen, I want do export as one spread page C3 with 7.

Is it possible? How?

You need to create a new document and place desired pages directly from the original INDD file.

Or from exported PDF, but as it's a one-off print - placing INDD file directly will be quicker.

I apreciate your time. I'll try that. I was wondering if there was a way to set this in the Export PDF dialog.

If Windows, you can use the following:

Like before, build your document in reader spreads:

Go to the Print Booklet menu:

In the Print Booklet dialog box, click on Print Settings:

In Print Settings, select the Adobe PDF print driver; set your paper size to Custom, and set the Marks and Bleed settings as desired/required; click OK when finished:

Are you doing this for some sort of printer imposition or for another reason?

Thank you Dave.

Yes, printer imposition. I have 8 magazines like shown in the first post screenshot. But the printer wants the Cover file to be one spread with Last Cover (C1) and Cover (C2), and the verse spread to be Last Page (7) with page 2 (C3). I've already resolve this by moving the last page (7) paring with page 2 (C3) in all 8 documents. A lot of work.

@ACpub

Imposition should be done by printer - they know best how it should be done for their machines.

If they want you to do it - try to change printer.

Unfortunately I can't. It's my client's choice in a hurry. I had already sent the files, but it took a lot of work.

Thanks!

OK--I'm assuming the document is short and about 8 pages. Your total page count DOES have to be a multiple of 4 pages (4, 8, 12, etc.). There are automated ways of doing this and I would agree that any printer worth their salt should be doing it for you. Be sure to work on a copy of your original document by doing a Save As.

1. Section your document the in what's called "reader spreads":

Right click on the sections and type in the right section and page number. I usually put cover C3 and C4 at the end. Your numbering system may be different.

2. Section each page.

3. Select all the pages and turn off "Allow Selected Spreads to Shuffle"

4. Carefully move the pages in "printer spreads" looking for the brace indicating where the page is going. If it does not go in the correct position, simply move it again. In this example, I'm move C4 to the left of C1.

5. Finish moving all the other pages in proper order.

@Dave Creamer of IDEAS

Why not just place pages of the original INDD file into a new one?

If the "source" file will have some "universal" name - like ImpositionSourceXX.indd - and imposed indd file will be named ImpositionXX.indd - next time it's just a case of overwriting "source" file and refreshing links in the imposed.

Where XX will be the number of pages - so one can have "16", "32", etc. templates.
