Hi guys,

I have just started my Mediadesigner education and downloaded Adobe CC for students. Unfortunately, I do not see the free templates! We have exactly the same version of Cloud in the shool and each app contains templates, but I do not see any at home. Any ideas on where they hide? Thank you for your help!InDesign.JPG

Hello,

I'll be happy to help. You need to click on the type of document you want to create such as Print, Web or Mobile. Then you will be able to see free templates according to that type.

Screenshot you have attached is for Recent tab which shows recently opened documents.

I have also created a gif for you to understand better :

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Ashutosh

Hi Ashutosh! Thank you so much for your fast response. Unfortunately, no templates are visible neither under print, nor under web or mobile:

If this is the case, I'd recommend you to reset your InDesign preferences following the below steps :

For Windows

  • Close all Adobe applications.
  • Go to Locations :
  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Adobe.
  •  Rename InDesign folders to InDesign.old
  • Launch InDesign from CC.

For MAC

  • Close all adobe applications
  • Go to Locations:
  • ~/Library/Caches
  • ~/Library/Preferences
  • Rename Adobe InDesign and com.adobe.indesign to Adobe InDesign.old and com.adobe.indesign.old
  • Launch InDesign from the CC

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and InDesign will recreate new folders with default settings.

You can also check out the help article: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/setting-preferences.html for more info.

I am sure it will help. If there is any other concern, let us know, we'd love to help.

Regards,

Ashutosh
