How to get rid of a line

Hi, Im making a paper and I have noticed that there´s an "invisible" line in one of my pages that pushes the text away. I can see the line if I "mark all" but I can´t activate it and delete it and I can´t grab it and move it from my page. Does anyone know what to do?

  1. Did you open the layer panel and extend all layer? Do it on the page and on the master/parent page.
  2. If it is so, so unlock it and delete it.
  3. If you cannot see the line in the layer panel, export the file as IDML, open that and save it as new file.

That's way too general to even point you in the right direction. It could be any of almost a dozen things.

Can you post a screen shot of the layout, with the highlighting that shows what you see?

As you can see above, the line (the one the pink arrow points at) pushes the text away.

You can only see it if you "mark all", otherwise its invisible.

If you try to grab it with your black pointer it doesn´t work either.

It´s kind of stuck on the page

It looks as if you have your text split into too many separate frames, and they are interfering with the intended flow.

It is not usual InDesign practice to put a text frame to hold each "block" of text, as you might in Illustrator. One frame, or a few coordinated and linked frames on a page is more appropriate, with paragraph styles to manage spacing, etc.

Your "line" looks as if it's space between frames, or maybe one frame pushing text around in another.
