How to Incorporate Mathematical Formulas in InDesign

I will have to incorporate the attached formula into an InDesign document. Is there a fairly easy way to "set" such a formula directly in the program? I'm using the Garamond Premier fonts. If necessary I'll just put it in as art (probably the simplest method).

Do you have WORD installed in your system?

How many of those do you have to insert?

Or try this:

Only two to insert, fortunately. I have Microsoft Word. That's where the equation was created.

You can use MathType in Google Docs free for 30 days.

Here is a PDF I did of your equation. The font usage seemed limited but I did not look into using other fonts.

Thank you. I may just use this as a piece of art. This is the only equation to be inserted.

If you have Pages you can enter formulas using LaTeX. Export as RTF. When you try to place the RTF file you will discover it is a folder with PDF files inside. Place the PDF files.

The code for your formula is: x=-\frac{7}{2}\pm \frac{1}{2}i\sqrt{\frac{445}{3}}

It looks like this in Pages and when placed in InDesign:

The more I think about it the more I like this system. You can maintain multiple equations in one Pages file, where they can be edited and formatted. Export to RTF and you get one folder with each equation as a placable PDF.

Happily I only have to do this once the bluest of moons, but it's good to know how.
