How to Make Background Color Wrap with Paragraph Rule Above in InDesign

I'm using a aragraph style with the Paragraph Rule Above setting. Notice on the 2nd line in the screenshot, it wraps around to a 3rd line, yet the yellow background color doesn't follow it. What do I need to do to get the yellow to wrap around?

Hi @Chris Panny , You have two paragraphs, the first has one line and the second has two lines. Paragraph shading might be better for this:

What you are calling the third line is actually the second line in the second paragraph. The line beginning Springs is one paragraph (note hte pilcrow at the end of the line).

I suspect you’ve been doing this for a while and are using paragraph rules as a kludge because paragraph shading was not a feature of most layout programs for a long time. it is a feature of InDesign now and it is probably what you want.
