I am actually on creative cloud CC

where do i download indesign CS6? will it overwrite my existing indesign CC?

If you open your Creative Cloud panel (where you install and update the software), you can download previous versions. Select Other Versions and then CS6.

To answer your other question, installing InDesign CS6 will not overwrite InDesign CC.

Anyone have another solution?   I have an old PageMaker 6.5 file that will open and save in PageMaker 7.0 just fine.  But I cannot open it is InDesign CS Pagemaker Edition.  I get the standard error about it being wrong format, corrupt, missing plug-in, etc. as in this popup box: https://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/en/indesign/kb/cant-open-pagemaker-files-indesign/_jcr_cont...
