Question

How to renumber images

Hi! I'm new to InDesign but I think I'm getting the hang of it. However I have one problem. I did a special Paragraph style for numbering my images. Works really well --- until I tried to insert a new image in the beginning of my book. I discovered that Indesign number the Images from the order they are inserted, not the location. Is there a way to renumber my images by location in the book?

Can you provide screen captures of your paragraph style  numbering settings? Did you create a unique numbering style for the figures?

Thanx, but I don´t think so. As I said, I'm new to this but I use the same tecnique all the time.
An image and a Text fiels below with my numbering paragraph style. It doesn´t matter where I put the "numbering textfield", if I put it in the beginning of the book, in the middle or as a last Image. It'l still get number 101. So it seems InDesign remembers the order in that You have put the text fields but it doesn´t have an idea of if an image is placed before or after another image.
