how to save an animated x-mas card that can be opened by everybody?

hi everyone,

I made a X-mas card in indesign which is animated (text dropping from above - rotating frames, etc).

I saved my file as an .swf, but that doesn't work for people who don't have Flash...

I don't see other possibilities which could do this job (save as: interactive PDF or epub? (the animation doesn't work automatically) )

I want to email my card so that everybody who opens my mail sees my X-mas card, on any device (PC as well).

indesign has no option like 'animated gif'...

how can I fix this with the limited saving possibilities in indesign....

the 'screen to gif' seems to be a windows-program, right? I'm a mac-user...

OK everybody, I got the message.

indesign wasn't a good idea... which is a shame, because it went smoothly to make the card.

    to ACP:

how can SWF work if my clients do not have Flash installed on their computer?

I tried ePub as wel, but to me, that doens't support moving elements, does it?

    Hi,

I meant make a screen recording of the animation using SWF panel of Indesign. Or export to publish online and make a video.

On mac this can easily be done using Quicktime player which comes installed.

Once done, save this as .mp4

Using any of the online tools( I have checked and there are many) convert this .mp4 to .gif

If you want to use your card as a part of email - use GIF file

But it's not possible in InDesign

You can export some screen to PNG Files and merge tchem as a GIF using Animate or Photoshop

But maybe it's better idea to use Adobe Animate or Photoshop from scratch instead of InDesign

so... indesign gives us the opportunity to make animation and at the end........... we can only use the "publish online"?

what's the point of all the "export as"-possibilities then?

dear Adobe-team, please give us the 'save as : gif' there....

    Hi,

I think Publish Online is the best for this.Use Publish Online to publish your InDesign documents

    hi aman,

good idea, but my customers still have to click on a link instead of seeing my card straight away.....

or do I expect too much from indesign?

do I have to think about another program to make this? shame, because the card is ready to be saved and sent...
