How to Save and Archive Comments from InDesign's Share for Review Feature?

New Here ,
Nov 07, 2024 Nov 07, 2024

I have a work related InDesign document that is required to save all comments and responses made. My method of recieving these comments is done by creating a shareable link and having my shareholders place their comments through creative cloud. This is the method that I need to be using but I can't find any way to save and archive these comments. Attached is a photo of the review thread that I would like to save. Any suggestions?

Hello @rachel_5025,

Thank you for reaching out! Saving and archiving comments from InDesign’s Share for Review feature is essential for maintaining a record of feedback, so I’m glad to help.

To begin, could you confirm which version of InDesign you're using and provide details about your operating system? This will help ensure the best solution for your setup.

A few suggestions to save and archive comments from Share for Review:

1. For quick record-keeping, you can screenshot the comment thread. While this is a manual approach, it can be useful if there are only a few comments.

2. InDesign doesn’t currently support exporting Share for Review comments directly. However, you can export your document as a PDF, open it in Adobe Acrobat, and manually add the comments from the Share for Review panel. This allows you to save a PDF version that includes all feedback in a single file.

3. Open the Share for Review panel in InDesign, and manually copy each comment and paste it into a text document. While this is time-intensive, it can help preserve a record if the comment history is essential for future reference.

4. I understand that this functionality is important to you, and I apologize for its unavailability at this time. Would you mind creating a UserVoice for this feature request on Adobe’s UserVoice platform for InDesign [here](https://adobe.ly/3UHoyAb)? Adding your comments will help Adobe prioritize this request, and you will be notified of any updates.

Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We’re here to help, and best of luck with your project!

Thanks,

Abhishek Rao

Abhishek, thank you for all of the advice. I currently have InDesign 2025 as I just updated my version yesterday and my system is a HP EliteBook - G10 Notebook PC. I could certainly use some of the methods you've mentioned but they will all be very time consuming and won't allow my entire team to easily save their responses. I have posted to User Voice and will hopefully see others requesting the same feature.
