How to view entire image (without invoking Edit Original)?

Is there a way to quickly/easily view an entire image that has been cropped or is partially hidden behind other objects?  I know I can right-click and Edit Original to open the image in an editor, but I'm looking for a quick solution that reveals the entire image in place.

Thank you.

Hello @mlondon88,

If you select the an image with the Direct Selection tool and hold down you can see the entire image if it has been cropped, unfortunately you can't see the entire image if it's behind other objects though.

Regards,

Mike

You can click on the Fit Frame to Content button in the Control bar (it might also be in the Properties bar, something this old fart has yet to get comfortable with). Then undo.

Thank you all for great suggestions!

Clicking on Fit Frame to Content suits my workflow best.

茶,

Select the image with the Direct Selection tool, and duplicate the colored dots in the Layers panel by option+dragging (on a Mac) to the top layer. Undo or delete when you are done.

Select the cropped image inside its container frame.

Copy it and then do Paste in Place.
