Question

how to white out the background of tiff greyscale images in InDesign

Hi, I would like to white out the background of a tiff image (greyscale) in InDesign. In QuarkXpress there is an option to select the background of the image on/off (color=none), so WHITE in the image has removed (see xpress.jpg). In InDesign I don't see such an option, so the backgroundcolor stays WHITE. (see indesign.jpg). Can Someone tell me if there is an option for this in InDesign?

white out the background of a tiff image (greyscale) in InDesign.

If you convert the grayscale to Bitmap Mode (Black & White) in Photoshop, you can set the parent frame’s fill to [None] and the bitmap to a color:

No. Open it in Photoshop and do it there.
