I can't paste an image or pdf in the InDesign file. I got this message " Cannot crop to bleed box.

I can't paste an image or pdf in the InDesign file?

I got this message " Cannot crop to bleed box. Either the bleed box is not defined, or is empty:

When you place the PDF make sure you select show options. Those options are sticky and if you have an option selected that doesn't apply to the current file, this could happen.

Very strange I have used Indesing for 20 years, never have had this message?

It has always been this (see image)

- but It takes twice as long time to place the image

- if you have to place 100 images or pdf

A voice from 2022, when I looked up an answer to the same issue. If you have ever opened up a PDF in, say, Photoshop, you will have gotten this dialog box. It's easy to forget that these settings are sticky; you may have chosen crop to bleed line and forgotten about it.
